POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing merchandise for delivey to customer. Employee is responsible for sorting and repackaging in a manner that protects the merchandise for designated mode of transport; insures an appropriate appearance when it arrives to the customer; and insures accuracy of merchandise and quantities match the customer order. Responsible for processing shipments with specific computer applications to ensure timely, accurate, and cost effective delivery. Also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area within the distribution center throughout the day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma / GED
- General warehouse experience helpful but not required; job specific experience will be relative to starting wage.
- Ability to read and write
- Computer knowledge helpful
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to lift and lower up to 70 lbs. and be on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to operate manual and motorized Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The successful Order Packer will diligently observe and perform the detailed Job Work Methods and Procedures to provide accurate and complete fulfillment of customer orders by:
- Responsibly matching merchandise exactly to customer orders by verifying description , UPC, SKU #, and quantities of product against the pick ticket.
- Preparing merchandise for shipment to the customer by repackaging and labeling.
- Preparing accurate labeling and documentation for shipments - Bill of Lading (BOL), packing slip, package and skid labels
- Maintain the integrity of the distribution center inventory by addressing discrepancies immediately.
- Utilizing various software systems such as Clipperdhip, NX Trend and TWL effectively to meet requirements of the position.
- Work efficiently to meet minimum acceptable requirements (MAR) in production and accuracy.
- Follow all safety guidelines and the Distribution Center, Safe Work Methods (SWM) at all times to remain injury free.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record and adhere to distribution center attendance policies.
- Project a positive attitude at all times and promote a desirable work environment.
